What Is a Collector Booster Box?
A Collector Booster Box contains 12 Collector Booster Packs, with 15 cards per pack. First introduced with Throne of Eldraine in 2019, it has since become the primary way Wizards of the Coast delivers premium collector content with every new set.
Unlike the Play Booster Box designed for draft and gameplay, the Collector Box was designed from the outset for collectors — people who want the rarest, most beautiful, and most exclusive versions of each card.

Practical Buying Tips
Buy in pre-order for UB sets. For Universes Beyond sets like the upcoming The Hobbit (Aug. 2026), Collector Boxes sell out on launch day. If you have not pre-ordered, you will pay a secondary market premium.
Compare prices on CardMarket. For standard sets like Tarkir and Edge of Eternities, the secondary market often has better prices than retail after the first few months.
Play Box for draft, Collector Box for bling. There is no overlap — they are different products for different needs. Do not try to draft with Collector Boosters.
One Collector Box does not equal a playset. Even with 60+ rares per box, the probability of finding 4 copies of a specific card is very low. For playsets, buy singles.
